A few words about cotton canvas fabrics…
The canvas, which is usually made with cotton threads, is the ideal basis for the creation of more complex fabrics. It is used for shading curtains, cushions on sofas in balconies and gardens (pavilion). It is also made for uses such as: ironing board cover, general use bags for your shopping (tote bags) on which you can even apply or print anything you want and make them unique. Washable at 40⁰C. Washing before sewing is recommended when it is necessary to know the final dimensions of the fabric. Not suitable for director’s chair (higher standard specification fabric is required).
Very heavy canvas with strong diagonal weave. It has very good durability for many constructions, from shading curtain to making bamboo cushions. Caution is required as it shrinking 12% in width and 12% in length. This obliges us to wash it, so that we have the final dimensions before using it. After washing, the gathering that the fabric undergoes is channeled into elasticity, gaining the perfect fit (stretch) when we want to make, for example, a pillowcase. Also suitable for many other uses.
