Composition: 30% wool – 55% linen – 15% cotton
Luxurious fabric made for men’s suit. Its normal price is clearly higher, something that has always made it “prohibitive” for women’s clothing, due to the need of women for more frequent renewal of their wardrobe in contrast to men. Most of these products contain more than 80% cashmere yarn and Merino yarn. Suitable for all kinds of women’s clothing (trousers, jacket, skirt, and dress). It can be worn all year round, but mainly it is a summer outfit, because it is very light and the coolest.
Width: 1,47 meters
Weight per meter in grams: 331
A few words about woolen yarns:
The breed of the animal (goat or sheep), the area (Kashmir or Australia), the age of the animal (young), the part of the body (the belly and not the sunburned back), the length of the hair and the cutting season, are some of the factors that make the fabrics, produced with these yarns, “luxurious”. So the quality of the wool, even if it is not cashmere, varies greatly depending on all the above details. They are the ones that can give a fabric a unique shine, touch, flowing, to a point where no one can believe that it contains a trace of wool.
- Shine like silk fabrics.
- Touch of fine cotton fabric (does not “sting” in the slightest).
- Flowing like a fabric of exceptional viscose.
It may sound strange, but these fabrics are washable by hand or by washing machine in the program for sensitive clothes. In case someone wants to wash it at home instead of dry cleaning, it is necessary to wash the fabric at 30⁰C before sewing (note they shrink a bit). The benefit of this procedure is as follows: Drop of water (from rain or accident) on the garment (if not pre-washed) creates a stain which requires dry cleaning again to disappear. Something that becomes boring. To avoid this discomfort, pre-washing is recommended. Among other things, the cleanliness of the washing at home is irreplaceable.
The price is far from their true value, because these fabrics have bought in the form of a batch of four thousand meters.
The VIDEO below aims exclusively at perceiving the movement of the fabric. (The low quality of the VIDEO distorts the true colors and therefore you should ignore them. The actual colors are only visible in the photos).
Additional information from the huffingpost page:
Cashmere wool comes from goats. Specific cashmere goats. While woolen fabric comes from sheep, cashmere comes from a specific species of goat. When a sheep offers 3 kilos of wool a year, a goat offers only 200 gr from her own wool in a year.
The cashmere goats also have surprisingly soft hair, but for the cashmere fabric not all the animal hair is used, but only the middle part, which is the softest.
It is worth mentioning that to make a sweater you need wool from 6-8 cashmere goats. So it costs a lot to maintain a herd of cashmere from which not much cashmere is produced. So here we are dealing with the factor of rarity. Due to the limited quantity, the final product is very expensive.
